This last scene in the June 2007 finale of "The Sopranos" featured almost the entirety of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'." For such a massive hit, “Don’t Stop Believin’” is sort of a curious tune. A scene from the pilot episode of "Glee," where the singers did an a capella version of "Don't Stop Believin'." ‘Don’t stop believing, Jon.’”Over the past 15 years “Don’t Stop Believin’” has become a karaoke staple and a sing-along favorite. What I wrote in that review wasn’t fairIs “Don’t Stop Believin’” a good song?

Maureen Dowd has a cold. Not quite the same ring as “Frank Sinatra Has a Cold,” Gay Talese’s legendary 1966 Esquire profile of the crooner. So on caucus night, I stayed in my hotel room watching TV and munching on Cheez-Its, flipping between wins and losses in Hollywood and Iowa. There wasn’t any custom Louis Vuitton on display in the frozen tundra of Iowa, but there were some parallels — beyond the abysmal turnout for both shows. The Emmys did a tribute to “The Sopranos” and James Gandolfini.

Boris Epshteyn, a Trump advisor, was accused of groping and harrassing two women at a club in 2021. One woman said he had a "fat, ugly, like drooping face" and resembled a "fatter Tony Soprano." Epshteyn worked in the Trump White House and helped coordinate the fake elector scheme in 2020. She also described Epshteyn as "that Tony Soprano looking dude," referring to the main protagonist portrayed by James Gandolfini in the hit TV show "The Sopranos." A Republican political consultant, Epshteyn briefly worked in the White House under Trump, later serving as a strategic advisor for his 2020 re-election campaign.

(Chappelle notoriously walked off the show during production of its third season, with only enough material for three episodes in the can.) ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ (June 30)There may have been better early-2000s romantic comedies, but this 2003 hit from Donald Petrie may be the most early-2000s romantic comedy. Scott’s frequent leading man Denzel Washington brings tormented complexity to the grizzled hero, whose shift at M.T.A. dispatch is disrupted by a madman (John Travolta) whose crew takes over a subway car and holds its passengers hostage. And James Gandolfini is wonderful (and miles from Tony Soprano) as the city’s mayor.
